Born in the entertainment & variety capital of the UK, Blackpool – Little grew up in Manchester and was one of the biggest Stars from the 70’s for three decades.

After leaving Yew Tree Secondary Modern School, he worked as an interior decorator whilst performing ass a singer and guitarist in Manchester pubs before teaming up with Eddie Large.

Syd now runs a café with his Wife called the ‘Steamer’ in Fleetwood.

After the cancellation of The Little and Large Show, Little chose to return to the North West. He appeared occasionally on shows such as Shooting Stars, until 2005 when he took part in the reality television show Trust Me I’m A Holiday Rep.

They had several names in the clubs, but, as ‘Little and Large’ they won Opportunity Knocks in 1971 leading to a hugely successful 20 year television career.

The duo’s first television pilot was filmed in 1976, and this led to a regular series in 1977. The show was on air for 14 years.

He also appeared in The Bob Monkhouse Show, Wogan and Comedy Map of Britain.

In August 2012 Syd, and his wife Sheree, ventured into pastures new by opening The “Little” Restaurant at The Strawberry Gardens pub in his hometown of Fleetwood, Lancashire, but moved the business to the Steamer pub, also in Fleetwood, in April 2016.

In 2015, Little took part in BBC One’s Celebrity MasterChef and made it through to the third round, but not the fourth.
