Stephen Tompkinson is one of the UK’s most loved, best known and most respected actors.

He’s best known for films like Brassed Off & TV series including Wild At Heart & DCI Banks on ITV.

Born in Stockton, Tompkinson has only ever worked in radio, TV and film. Over nearly four decades he’s become one of the most popular faces on TV with shows including Minder, Ballykissangel, Trollied, Heartbeat and even Prime Suspect.

He has a daughter Daisy, partner Elaine and dreams of being a cricket commentator.

In 2018 he’s on tour with Nigel Havers and Denis Lawson in ART.

Stephen is best known for his television roles as Marcus in Chancer (1990), Damien Day in Drop the Dead Donkey (1990–98), Father Peter Clifford in Ballykissangel (1996–98), Trevor Purvis in Grafters (1998–99), Danny Trevanion in Wild at Heart (2006–13) and Alan Banks in DCI Banks (2010–16).
