Sandi is a Danish-British writer, presenter, comedian, actress and producer on British radio and television. She currently presents The News Quiz on BBC Radio 4 and previously presented 1001 Things You Should Know on Channel 4.

Ms. Toksbig is due to begin presenting the revival series of Fifteen To One in 2014. In October 2012 she succeeded Sheila Hancock as Chancellor of the University of Portsmouth.

Toksvig is mother to three children. She lives on a houseboat in Wandsworth with psychotherapist Debbie Toksvig, whom she joined in a civil partnership in 2007. They renewed their vows on 29 March 2014, the day same-sex marriage was introduced in England and Wales.

She’s a hugely popular touring artist who has released many best selling books, her most recent ‘Peas and Queues’.

Most famously, Sandi is the host & Star of ‘The New Quiz’ on BBC Radio 4. This programme celebrates her fabulously quick mind, brilliant humour and cutting sarcasm.

She told the Good Housekeeping Magazine: “I became obsessed with the thought that I was going to die. I was never interested in how I look….this time last year I was a size 22 and walking with a stick.

“I was tired and a bit depressed, which isn’t my style – I’m really an optimistic person.”

On why her weight-loss program worked, she explains: “At my first appointment I sat on weight-loss expert Louise Parker’s sofa and told her ‘I’m going to die.’

“And she said to me ‘Not on my watch, Sandi. This is what I do.’”
