With a background as an advertising copywriter, both in London and New York, Russ specialised in the corporate sector and amassed fifteen international writing awards for his work, including the Gold Medal at the New York Film and Television Festival.
His most recent work was writing 34 interactive films for Xerox USA as part of a $1.5 million exhibition in Washington DC and, before that, a twelve-month communication consultancy for The Department of Health – reporting solely to the Commercial Director who, in turn, reported directly to The Prime Minister. It’s a little-known fact that it was Russ Kane who was the creative writing force behind the introduction of a then-unknown small Finnish firm into the UK – Nokia.
Russ has always been in demand as an auctioneer for major charities, including Breast Cancer Care, Variety, the Children’s Charity, The Royal Marsden Hospital Appeal, the UJIA, the Rhys Daniels Trust & The Army Benevolent Fund.
As a Corporate Host & Moderator, Russ has recently worked with Shop Direct (the largest UK online retailer after Amazon), Microsoft, PriceWaterhouse Coopers, Oracle / Sun Microsystems (creators of Java & Unix) plus many other blue-chip companies, ranging from car manufacturers to hair products.
