Enjoy Celebrity Radio’s Rod Stewart Musical Tonight’s The Night Tour Review 2014….
Tonight’s The Night, the smash hit West End musical comedy inspired by the songs of Rod is the all-singing, all-dancing feel good show which is playing to sold-out theatres across the UK.
Now is your chance to rediscover the magic of timeless classic songs, from Maggie May to Baby Jane and Hot Legs to Sailing plus many more!
The script is typically sarcastic as with all of Ben Elton’s work. This show is high energy and fun for all of the family.
Tonight’s the Night tells the story of a shy young man, so tongue tied that he cannot find the courage to declare his love to the girl of his dreams. One night our hero strikes a deal with the Devil, trading his soul for Rod’s.
It seems like a good idea at the time but this guy is about to find out the hard way that you can’t find true love using another man’s moves and that devil or no devil, there’s only one Rod Stewart!
This show may not have a spectacular West End set, however, the cast give their all and steal the show with their high energy and magnetic performance throughout. You cannot fail to hum along with these legendary songs made famous by Rod Stewart.
The lighting and costumes are excellent and the six piece band are the backbone of this Rod themed celebration.
As with all of Ben Elton’s shows, some of the gags are cheesy and the script skips along with innuendo throughout. If you liked ‘We Will Rock You’, you’ll adore ‘Tonight’s The Night’.
The true Star’s of the show are the lead singers who all have remarkably powerful voices. With the West End struggling Bigime, touring theatre’s calibre of talent is through the roof!
Tonight’s The Night Stars the incredible Jenna Lee James as Mary.
Jenna headlines this show vocally as the ‘geeky’ character that we all fall in love with as she blossoms throughout the show.
She steals the show with knockout performances including the amazing ‘Reasons To Believe’. Stunning performance….
Ms. James is an incredibly talent with a power-house voice. Having Starred as all 3 leads in We Will Rock You in the West End, Jenna is one of the most versatile and talented women in Live performance.
Her voice is gorgeous, moving and magnificently controlled.
Alex Belfield went to meet her backstage at the Nottingham Theatre Royal:
