RIP Gary Beach Interview – Died 7/17/2018

Celebrity Radio’s RIP Gary Beach Interview – Actor Died 7/17/2018….

Alex’s favourite West End / Broadway show EVER is Mel Brooks ‘The Producers!’

We were so sad to hear of the passing of Gary Beach who was in the original cast of The Producers.

His performance was magnificently witty in a show that was brilliantly written and the musical numbers are the best in the business.

Belfield went to meet the two Stars of the original West End movie and the international movie released in 2006….

Gary Beach is a Broadway Legend! His television credits include Queer as Folk, Murder, She Wrote, Cheers, Sisters, Arli$$, and Saved by the Bell, as well as many more.

Enjoy Gary and Roger in conversation with Alex Belfield on Broadway:

Gary’s other TV Credits include “Recording the Producers”, a documentary for PBS.

Beach also recently lent his voice to FOX’s Family Guy where he played Dale, in the now infamous ‘banned from television’ episode, “Partial Terms of Endearment” (available on DVD).

In 1994, Beach originated the comical role of Lumiere in Beauty and the Beast, a performance that earned him a Tony Award nomination for Best Featured Actor in a Musical.

In 2001, he originated the stage role of Roger DeBris in The Producers for which he won the Tony Award for Featured Actor in a Musical.

In 2004, he starred as Albin in the Broadway revival of La Cage aux Folles, earning him his third Tony nomination, this time for Leading Actor.

We also spoke to Roger Bart:

Roger Bart is a Broadway (award winning) legend. Broadway credits include The Producers, where he originated the role of Carmen Ghia (Tony and Drama Desk nominations) and went on to play Leo Bloom.

Recorded 2006 by Alex Belfield for the BBC and Celebrity Radio.
