Enjoy our exclusive audio / video review via YouTube:
Carlos is regarded as a musical visionary transcending generations, cultures and geographical boundaries.
This show proves his diversity and celebrates his phenomenal gift – moving from ballads to huge pop and rock anthems effortlessly.
Santana appears to be totally selfless offering his stage to the two singers and members of the band throughout the performance.
Uniquely this isn’t a one may show, it’s an ensemble performance giving everyone in the band the opportunity to do their thing.
For more than four decades Santana has been the defining artist of Afro-Latin-blues-rock fusion.
The sell-out crowd just loved his solos, often embracing two guitars at the same time.
Santana is the go to guy for guitar. He’s worked with everyone from Chad Kroeger, Rob Thomas, Shakira, Joss Stone, Sean Paul and many more.
No-one is more in demand when it comes to ‘that’ unique sound. When Carlos does his thing, it screams out above everyone as his unique take on the guitar.
These were the most compelling, moving and stand out moments of the show.
Carlos is so cool. He doesn’t need a flashy suit, dance moves or huge set to shine. His fingers on that guitar surpass any production money can buy.
Some may find the volume & singers distracting at times as Santana is deliberately not centre stage and puts himself in the background. That humility is inspiring.
He’s in a band – it’s an ensemble to which he is a part….no pulling focus from the overall sound. The mutual respect amongst those musicians is inspiring.
However, during those tender solo moments, he leaves the room speechless and in complete awe at his blessed and God given raw talent.
It’s a true honour to be in his presence. 5* genius!
