Review Petula Clark Tour 2016…

Petula Clark took the stage tonight sparkling from head to toe. Her frock was only outshone by her charisma, stage presence and stunning vocal prowess.

From the first second Ms. Clark addressed the Manchester Bridgewater Hall crowd, the mutual love and warmth filled the cavernous venue.

I was amazed by Petula’s distinctive but beautiful, pure, powerful and frankly remarkable voice. I honestly do not think it has ever sounded better or richer in tone.

What control and diversity of playlist. Most notably the Sunset Boulevard, Classical & Tony Hatch sections were electrifying!

Other hits include highlights from the 1968 film Finian’s Rainbow before she seamlessly into a spine-tingling rendition of This Is My Song, penned by the late comic actor Charlin Chaplin.

Most alluring of all was her pure energy on stage and excitement to bring these glorious hits back to life with her impressive 5 piece band.

The icing on the cake was Pet’s personal stories and insights behind the music.

What a life. What a career. What a soundtrack to our lives.

A sensational night in the presence of a legend. 5*
