Enjoy Celebrity Radio’s Review OTTO Pizzeria Venetian Hotel & Casino Las Vegas…
With 25 restaurants in the US and 4 eateries in the Venetian alone – Mario Batali is one of the most recognised and respected chefs working today.
He’s undoubtedly at the absolute top of his game.
OTTO is Mario’s Pizzeria at The Venetian Hotel And Casino Las Vegas.
Situated on the Venetian’s Piazza San Marco on the Canal Level, OTTO Las Vegas combines the elegance of a Bolognese enoteca with the energy of an Italian train station.
Open from 11am – 11pm, this eatery offers divine Italian classics in the vibrant and surreal surroundings of the worlds biggest hotel!

To begin, the amuse bouche was a delightful thrill for the palate.
All three delicate dishes were incredibly authentic and rustic.
The grilled asparagus with romesco sauce was a crisp delight.
Next, the spring vegetables, cherry tomatoes with English peas and mint ricotta salata cured with salt – a lovely dish. This was my favourite!
The sugar snap peas julienne with lemon juice was once again such a fresh and crisp start to the meal. With just a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil, this was a lovely way to start the meal.
Batali loves his prosciutto! This is an art…
Mario’s pork shrine is a carnivores delight. You could easily make a meal of this alone.
Prosciutto di parmo is the only thing Chef imports – how could he not. The rest is cured and cooked here in the US.
All of the meats are served a la carte. Below is chefs platter for the review.
For me the 81 day cured Genoa Coppa ham was delicious. This is the shoulder pork rolled with fennel pepper was a Italian delight.
Also, the Mortadella pork was a rare treat. Made with dehydrated milk – grounded, poached with a little liquid – this texture will blow your mind.
So rare to find such quality Italian meats in a restaurant. This could be a 5* meal for me in itself.
This restaurant has truly warm and friendly service. Nothing is too much trouble.
All of the staff know and love the menu inside out. So refreshing in Las Vegas!
The wine selection at OTTO is sensational.
I can highly recommend the Masi Constasera Amarone.
Such richness, flavour and texture.
Utterly delicious!
So, to the pasta….
The house made Capitelli Pasta – with pea puree with almond pesto and confit of pork with kidney fat.
The dish is finished with English peas. The crunch of the peas is divine.
Finished with spring radish and lemon zest on top, this is a lovely delicate dish…..
You cannot visit OTTO without trying a pizza.
This pizza is truffle pizza with ‘bel paese’ cheese.
With Yukon potato a little Fontina cheese, sea salt and rocket on top – this is light and crisp (as ALL pizza should be).
For the meat course I highly recommend the braised pork shoulder with apple and averna reduction.
Stunning texture, packed with flavour and so moist.
Cooked for 4 hours, this devine braised meat is triple cooked – fried and then glazed.
This comes with a little kick of ginger & chilli on top.
The cheese course is as sensational as the prosciutto.
This was one of the ‘Eater Vegas’ best 30 dishes to try before you die. I agree.
To begin, the 90 day aged fontina – gorgeous. Followed by the 3 to 4 month gorganzolla, (my favourite).
Next came the 40 day aged taleggio followed by ricotta fresh in-house.
Conidiments feature the brandy soaked cherries, appricate nostarda with mustard seads & finally the honey truffle infusion.
Finally for dessert you will not be disappointed!
Batali does not do things by half!
The Lemon Crepe (crespelli) is the first crepe I’ve ever enjoyed. Delicious.
With blackberry sauce & lemon zest with toasted almonds & masceponi sweet cream – this is a true indulgent treat.
The Blueberry Tortelette was amazing – blueberry compote enthused with romsemary and (a rich lard) crisp pastry shell – as it should be.
Finally the rasebery & strawberry sorbetti were exceptional.
This is a wonderful dining experience with exceptional service.
