Nonna’s Kitchen in Hoddesdon is one of the most unique and enjoyable dining experiences I’ve had in a long while.

The menu is faultless and familiar & made with gorgeous fresh local ingrediance and the rest is flown in from ‘back home’.

This restaurant is a family affair and screams authenticity. From the bread to the ice-cream – it’s made in-house and served by those who know and love the food.

So to the food….

To begin one of my favourite Sicilian dishes is the anti-past0 & Caprese salad.

Add is Bruschetta with fresh tomatoes and this is a glorious amuse bouche.

So fresh, so delicious and so much fun to eat. My dream appetiser….

Don’t miss the Pizza’s at Nonna’s – they’re worth a visit in themselves!

The dough is made in house and the sensational tomato sauce is Nonna’s secret recipe.

Nonna’s have a rare traditional wood fired pizza oven. This raging hot oven cooks the dough quickly to create the perfect thin crust, crispy but perfectly cooked pizza.

For me the ultimate test of an Italian or Sicilian is the meatballs. They have to be incredible tender, no gristle whatsoever and the perfect sauce. These were 5*!

Next to the pasta, the Linguine Fruitti di mare was divine and a bargain at just £16.00. With Linguini Pasta with Mixed Seafood, Garlic, Chili, tomato & white wine Sauce – this is a huge treat cooked to perfection!

Finally, and most importantly, the langoustine with tomato sauce was sensational!

So meaty, fresh, tender and divine. The best I’ve ever tasted in the UK….

Finally do not miss desserts at Nonna’s Kitchen!

Firstly, NK’s make their own ice-cream & gelato just across the street from the restaurant. Wow, this is something special. I tried the mint as well as cherry – utterly decadent and divine.

It’s just gorgeous! so many favours available post-meal, as a take away or to eat on the gorgeous outdoor patio.

There’s also a sensational bakery with all of the Italian / Sicilian classics including phenomenal cannoli’s.

They’re packed with cream or chocolate cream – this is the ultimate dessert!

All of the breads & desserts are created by master-bakers in-house prior to the restaurant opening. I just love that!

Finally as you leave Nonna’s, do visit the bakery & deli counter.

Sensational olives, anti-pasti, cheese, meats & breads.

All dishes are handmade by the Sicilian chefs in-house!

I can’t say enough good things about Nonna’s Kitchen. What a fabulous dinner.

Their party nights with tribute entertainers including ABBA, Rod Stewart & Elvis are a sell-out success. With the world class DJ Dean Martin as MC – you’re guaranteed an incredibly entertaining and fun night!

Even the toilets are showbiz! Perfectly clean, glam and exactly what you hope for from a restaurant of this culinary quality!
