Review Cilla The Musical UK Tour Dates…

‘Cilla The Musical’ is a three hour love letter to the 60’s, Liverpool & Priscilla White.

Adapted from Jeff Pope’s ITV series which starred Sheridan Smith, Kara Lily Haywoth steals the entire show with killer, epic & flawless vocals & infectious warmth.

This musical, which is produced by Cilla’s son Robert Wills, celebrates the life of Cilla Black from her teenage years in Liverpool through her rise to fame before TV.

The show naturally features all of the hits including “You’re my world”, “Anyone Who Had a Heart”, “Alfie” and “Something Tells Me”. Kara’s interpretation of these numbers are electrifying!

Kara is a 5* talent in a slick & polished 4* production packed with heart.

Enjoy our HD Video review of CILLA, full tour dates + standing ovation:

There’s no question Kara is a Star. She makes these enormous songs seem effortless. From open auditions to packing the enormous Winter Gardens today in Blackpool – Cilla would have been proud!

She’s cheeky, sassy, seductive & has a huge personality – just like the lady herself.

Andrew Lancel plays her boss, Epstein, masterfully. Cold, controlling but permanently infatuated – this is great casting.

Nods to Carl Au who is the perfect Bobby. His voice, charm & adoration shines throughout.

Aside from Kara, the best things about this show is the sound & the band. CILLA recreate this era of music authentically & perfectly.

You’ll be surprised how much the Beatles appear in this show. Other killer moments are ‘You’ve Lost That Loving Feeling’ and ‘Dancing In The Streets’ which were unexpected gems.

Fantastic to also hear three of Mitch Murray’s hits written for Gerry and the Pacemakers.

The show is undoubtedly a little long and somewhat repetitive for the first 40 minutes, but, when it kicks in – boy does it kick in!

There’s little choreography but the show does come alive when Kara sings the hits. Joyful.

The entire company worked tirelessly to pay tribute to arguably Britain’s biggest female Star EVER!

CILLA THE MUSICAL is worth the ticket price for Kara’s performance alone.
