Review 42nd Street West End

42nd Street is THE ultimate song and dance musical.

This gloriously decadent, 5* theatrical dream, finally arrived in the West End and delivers 2.5 hours of perfection – with Broadway standard energy and performance!

This new production at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane is an entertainment triumph with an enormous, energy packed and sensationally talented cast!

There’s never been a bigger, better or more electrifying finale in West End history.

As well as the spectacle, there’s Broadway belters: We’re In The Money, Lullaby of Broadway, Shuffle Off To Buffalo, Dames, I Only Have Eyes For You. How can you lose?

This is a high energy, funny, clever, brilliantly crafted, beautifully produced and designed Showstopper!

Young Peggy Sawyer, played by the stunning Clare Halse, goes from nothing to ‘the Star of the show’ in this ‘show within a show’ musical.

Clare is effortless, brilliant, stunning and a delicious Star and performer.

Huge kudos to Sheena Easton, who plays Dorothy. She has a tremendous voice and perfect stage presence. A rare Star ‘name’ that delivers and absolutely deserves to be there.

Also, huge respect to Tom Lister who drives the show theatrically as Julian Marsh. A hugely charismatic Star with a terrific voice and glorious charisma.

The staging of this production is simple in the first half but glorious in Act 2.

The Live orchestra are just tremendous. The sound is superb.

Mark Bramble, co-author of the book for the original Broadway and West End productions of 42nd STREET and director of the award winning revival of 42nd STREET, returns to direct the new West End production.

The costumes in this production are remarkable and totally OTT.

This show is camp, uplifting, exhilarating and utterly charming.

It’s a captivating ‘traditional’ musical revived perfectly for 2017 audience.

Don’t miss 42nd Street at The Theatre Royal Drury Lane. It’s a 5* hoot!
