Pied à Terre caters to guests who appreciate personal service, fine wines, wonderful food in a relaxed atmosphere served without a rush to enjoy this gorgeous intimate dining experience.
We opted for the taster menu which did not disappoint including foie gras, scallops, stunning Sea Bass and delicious lamb….
The restaurant is located at the side of the Cadet Hotel through the most romantic entrance I’ve seen in a long time….
Owner Patrick brings huge personality and warmth to this restaurant. He’s clearly a master of working the room and is passionate about the customer experience and making sure everyone has the best time possible.
The dining room is beautifully designed, as intimate and well designed as any top European eatery.
Outside is a gorgeous pool area which would be the perfect romantic location and setting for any meal.
Back inside you are offered all of the indulgent touches of a fine dining restaurant experience….
To begin you are offered gorgeous fresh bread and a perfectly presented and portioned amuse bouche to tempt your taste buds. Of course the two types of bread comes with beautiful salted butter.
Next came the duo of Hudson Valley Foie Gras…..
The first offering was a warm ‘bonbon’ wrapped in a gorgeous potato ball perfectly cooked. This was followed by the cold terrine which was truly some of the finest I have ever tasted.
Next came a scallop ravioli with a rich and flavoursome sauce and foam.
For me the highlight of the meal was the sea bass which was sensational. With Baby Vegetables, Saffron, Lobster Broth, Aji Amarillo Peppers, Capers and Olives…this was truly a perfect dish.
The texture, flavour and vegetables surrounding it were all excellently cooked.
This fish was the best cooked and served I’ve tasted in many years.
The meat dish was perfectly tender and rare lamb.
This was perfectly cooked for me, although could be deemed ‘too pink’ for some American palates. However, this allowed the flavour and tender meat to shine. A lovely dish.
This dish came with mash and a delicious tomato and mushroom vegetable side.
Finally the dessert was a lovely trio of chocolate torte fondant.
Next was a sort of broken down Italian cannoli with cream, strawberries and a brandy snap base.
To round off a hugely enjoyable meal was a citrus sorbet on a bed of pistachios.
A huge treat in Miami – don’t miss Pied A Terre at the Cadet Hotel Miami Beach.
