Located on London’s South Bank, opposite Big Ben & The Houses of Parliament, this iconic landmark built for the millennium, is still one of the best ways to see the Capital.
The views are sensational giving birds-eye views of Buckingham Palace, The Shard, Canary Wharf and of course along the Thames.

Taking just under 30 minutes to take the ride, you barely know you are moving.
The entire structure is 135 metres (443 ft) tall and the wheel has a diameter of 120 metres.
It’s deceptive from the ground – it’s much bigger than you think.
When erected in 1999 it was the world’s tallest Ferris wheel and was built across the Thames and winched up slowly over several weeks.
The London Eye was beaten by the Las Vegas ‘High Roller’ in 2014 at over 100ft taller.
Supported by an A-frame on one side only, the Eye is described by its operators as “the world’s tallest cantilevered observation wheel”.
This attraction is hugely popular and lines can be considerable.
It’s efficient & well organised though and if you buy ‘Fast Track’ to jump the queue.
The London Eye is the most popular tourist attraction in the UK with 3.5 million visitors last year.
There are 32 ‘pods’ that hold up to 25 people.
You feel totally safe and the ride is seamless throughout. You cannot feel you are moving….other than seeing your perspective continually changing through 360 degrees.
The capsules are air conditioned and there are information pads throughout the capsule.
You’re given a booklet detailing each of the buildings below.

The London Eye was formally opened by then Prime Minister Tony Blair on 31 December 1999, although it was not opened to the public until 9 March 2000 because of technical problems.
On 5 June 2008 it was announced that 30 million people had ridden the London Eye since it opened.

The London eye is open from 10am-9.30pm.
In September 2014, Coca-Cola signed an agreement to sponsor the London Eye for two years, starting from January 2015. On the day of the announcement, the London Eye was lit in red.
How to get there:
The nearest London Underground station is Waterloo, although Charing Cross, Embankment, and Westminster are also within easy walking distance.
London River Services operated by Thames Clippers and City Cruises stop at the London Eye Pier.
Fasttrack tickets on the day – £29.95 or £119 for a family ticket.
Regular tickets on the day are £21.50 for adults and £15.50 for children.
A regular family ticket is £74 and £66 if you book online in advance.
For £27 per adult you can get a ‘night and day’ pass to take a trip in daylight and after dark.
The London Eye is open until 9.30pm most of the year but 11.30pm in July and August.
