Lienzo Gastrotapas Restaurant in Valencia is the most sophisticated restaurant I was lucky enough to dine at during my visit to Valencia in 2014. Enjoy our Exclusive review….
The delicate flavours, beautiful dining room and divine textures were matched by the superb standard of presentation.
This room is smart, formal and has a true feeling of fine dining from the moment you arrive. This is not a ‘taverna’, but a modern restaurant that would not look out of place anywhere in the world.
What I also loved about this restaurant is that the portion size was perfect! Size does not mean quality in cuisine. I left Lienzo Gastrotapas feeling wonderfully fulfilled with amazing wine, great company, fabulous food and a wonderful atmosphere.

Once seated at our nicely presented table, the courteous and friendly servers took our dinks order and then offered a delightful amuse bouche of partridge with beans (pic above) – gorgeous dish and the perfect start to the meal.
Followers of Celebrity Radio know that I always judge a restaurant by the standard of its bread. At Lienzo they offered some delicious pomegranate bread which was the best I’d tasted in months! Congratulations, first class!
Next, ‘on the house’ we were offered a canapé of potatoes with aliolo on top. I loved it. Totally original, so simple and uterly delicious.
And then we began the 5 course Tapas delight:
To begin was probably the most superb dish of the entire meal, a seared tuna ‘salad’ on a bed of crispy bread. Tremendously fresh and aromatic flavours…..
I was thrilled that there was so much fish in this meal and this celebrated the joy of cooking in a port town.
Next came the clams ~ not to everyone’s tasty but nicely cooked with mushrooms.
This was followed by a lobster gazpacho. Sadly for me this was a little too over seasoned with salt but it had incredible flavour and you could taste the skill of the chef from the first mouthful. (Pics Below)
The gazpacho was followed by a palate cleanser of foie gras and caramel. (Pic Above Middle). This was a foodies dream – total decadence and indulgence!
For the main part of the meal we were served cuttle fish with artichoke and foie gras.
This very authentic, original and well crafted meal was again full of flavour and texture and exciting to the eye.
Finally, Chef offered a gorgeous strawberry dessert with home made ice-cream with a hint of Grand Marnier. A joy to eat and a fabulous end to this wonderful dinner.
I was so thrilled to visit Lienzo Gastrotapas Restaurant. This restaurant could successfully open anywhere in the world.
The design is brilliant, the service is relaxed and impeccable and the food is innovative, sophisticated and beautifully crafted.
