Recorded on Broadway – December 2010
Chad appeared on Broadway in the Stephen Sondheim (Tony, Oscar, Emmy, Grammy)/James Lapine (Tony Pulitzer Prize) “Into the Woods” as Milky White the Cow, for which he was named one of “the 100 Most Creative People in Entertainment” for Entertainment Weekly’s “Must List”.
The show won the Tony Award for best Musical Revival. In 2005 he appeared as “the heart” of John Lennon in the Broadway musical “Lennon”. Other Broadway includes “The Civil War” and Good Vibrations”.
Chad’s Off-Broadway credits include the acclaimed 2001 revival of the Stephen Schwartz musical “Godspell” for which he recorded the revival album on the Fynsworth Alley label. The production was stocked with now Broadway veterans Shoshana Bean, Barrett Foa, Capathia Jenkins and Eliseo Roman, among others.
He played Marcel Proust in tandem with Tony Award winner Brent Carver along with Tony Nominee Kelli O’hara in Playwrights Horizon’s “My Life with Albertine”. The Musical by Ricky Ian Gordon and Richard Nelson (“Goodnight Children, Everywhere”), christened Playwright’s multi million dollar complex on 42nd street.
The week of 9/11, Chad began rehearsing “Bat Boy, The Musical”, joining the cast to fill the shoes of Tony Nominee Gavin Creel. The subsequent terror attack in lower Manhattan shuttered productions across the city. “Batboy” held it’s own, but succumbed to the drop in New York City tourism.
Regionally, he played “Antony”, the loverlorn sailor in Stephen Sondheim’s “Sweeney Todd” at the Signature Theatre in Arlington, VA, under the direction of Eric Schaeffer.
Chad played “Danny” opposite Moeshia McGill in the 2004 revival of “Baby” at The Papermill Playhouse in Millburn, New Jersey along with Tony Winners Michael Rupert, LaChanze, and other Broadway veterans Lenny Wolpe, Norm Lewis and Carolee Carmello.
Memphis comes to the West End in October 2014.
