Enjoy Celebrity Radio’s Castle House Restaurant Review Hereford…..
It is very rare that I am genuinely taken aback by a properties fascade, entrance, room, service and hospitality – but Castle House in Hereford ticked all of the boxes.
This stunning property oozes personality, warmth and history and is everything you dream of in a luxury hotel.
The building screams history and the location, backing onto a pond with private grounds, couldn’t be more perfect.
Castle House does not celebrate a rating in it’s branding – Celebrity Radio awards this glorious property 5*…..
The Castle House offers two dining options….
The Castle Bistro is open from 7am until 10pm for morning coffee and pastries to enjoy with the papers, afternoon tea and cocktails, and a Bistro-style dinner menu, all of which can be served on our peaceful terrace when the sun shines.
The Castle Restaurant is as elegant fine dining option and totally in keeping with Castle House rooms and grounds.
Offering an a la carte menu and taster option, there is something for everyone.
The menu celebrates seasonal and local ingredients. Expectations are high as Hereford is renowned for its quality produce.
We opted for the £50 taster menu – by far the best option and certainly offers exceptional value for money.
Before you even arrive in the dining room you have the option to sit in the glorious gardens. Alternatively you can sit in the lovely lounge where you will be served canapés.
The dining room feels spacious, airy and does not annoy with pointless musac….so make sure you dine with someone interesting to avoid awkward silence.
You are welcomed with an amuse bouche – tonight a delicious mozzerella, parma ham and peach followed by a delicious soup.
The room brings to mind the glory days of dining. Uncluttered, impeccable service and a hugely relaxing atmosphere.
The meal progressed through 8 colourful, well prepared & tempting dishes including local trout which was delicious.
Course three was a gorgeously tender and flavoursome homemade coarse & country-style terrine with blueberry’s. Lovely.
The local trout with new potatoes, garden peas and spinach was very simple but hugely effective….
The meal crescendoed with some gorgeous Herefordshire beef with green beans and carrots. A wonderfully simple, moreish & delicious dish.
The meal was completed with rhubarb ice-cream and strawberry’s. Packed with flavour, this was the perfect end to the meal.
The Castle Restaurant at Castle House offers great quality, a superb atmosphere and remarkable value for money.
Breakfast is served from 7am-10am ~ Lunch from 12 noon -2pm
Dinner from 6.30pm-9.30pm (9pm on Sundays and Bank Holidays)
