So the thing is, the fact Britney doesn’t sing Live in her Sin City spectacular residency is neither here or there!
Las Vegas doesn’t care….or at least the 4000+ who turned up tonight to watch her perform at the Axis Arena at Planet Hollywood.
This girl was born to perform in Las Vegas. She’s got an allure, a stage presence, an ability to entertain not to mention a high energy polished performance.
Ignore the old, middle class critics – her punters sincerely love her!
It’s very rare a pop Star is allowed to grow older disgracefully and still be welcomed on stage in her own multi-million dollar production just as warmly as 15 years earlier. That surely is testament to Britney Spears phenomenal talent and appeal.

When she sings (mines) along to Lucky I believed every word. “Isn’t she lucky this Hollywood girl – why do these tears come at night” – the irony was obvious to all. The simple staging of this number was delicious but the words resonated around the huge room as we considered her troubled past.
I first saw Britney Spears over 10 years ago in the UK and she didn’t sing Live there either. Who cares?
Britney is phenomenal dancer and knows how to work it. She’s hot and she knows it. For all her flaws she’s clearly incredibly disciplined and has mastered her craft.
Technically her performance at Planet Hollywood was simply perfect.
The show has rain, fire, light, dark, passion, glory, raw emotion & euphoria. It’s suppose its a bit ike the Shakespeare with tits.
This show is a master-class in stage production. It never gets tired, it moves quicker than a fat lass in the all-you-can eat buffet and the audience loved it.
Britney first spoke to her masses 41 minutes into the concert when she introduced her latest, soon to be No1 song – Perfume. Thankfully this a beautifully written ballad unlike most of her noisy autotuned studio created hits of late…..this song may have even been Live (in small parts)?!?!
The show lasting 90 minutes and starting 9.15pm sharp (not 9) has one of the best sound systems I’ve ever heard in a Live venue.
The band – mostly Live – were also at the top of their game. A deliciously produced sound with flawless direction.
I should give a nod to the lighting designer who should win an award. There’s some of the most scintillating visuals I’ve seen in my 20 year reviewing career.
In parts you could see and feel resemblances to Cirque Du Soleil – they’re the best in the business so that’s no bad thing.
The staging of Circus and especially Toxic was nothing short of theatrical brilliance. In fact some of the best I’ve ever seen.
What was also great about the show was the Vegas audience. Unlike so many other shows in town offering comps and discounts, begging for punters and giving patrons a rare opportunity for a rest – every single member of crowd wanted to be there……and more over wanted Ms. Spears to be the best she could be. Their energy was infectious.
Brit’s fleet of dancers enhanced her precision performance fabulously. Again, she has the pick of the crop and naturally attracts the best in the business. Rightly so.
Britney belts out all killer no filler hits from her extensive back catalogue. There’s no endless monologues or self indulgent videos of better times – she gets on with it and knocks it out of the park from the moment she arrives on stage.
I can only marvel at the creative genius’ behind this mammoth production.
The only people who knock Britney are those who haven’t seen her. She’s dedicated her life to her craft and regardless of her ups and downs she’s come out on top with a killer show.
Balls to critics! She delivers value for money and gives back every cent of the ticket price in her performance! Good for you Ms Spears, this much hyped risk has definitely paid off!
Don’t miss Britney Spears at Planet Hollywood Las Vegas.
