Located at the glorious Conrad St James London Hotel, you cannot fail to be impressed by the understated luxury and service.
With an attentive, friendly staff who never become obtrusive – this is a rare oasis of calm away from the chaos of the West End within 20 minutes walking distance or just minutes in a cab.

To begin chef offered two of his delicious house soups.
The L0bster bisque was so smooth and subtle with wonderful tender lobster hiding like jewels at the bottom of the bowl.
The celeriac and apple soup was rich and creamy and a great start to a memorable meal…..
With a simple menu of delicate dishes including Steak Tartare, Mackerel, Mussels, Lobster Bisque & Green Salad to begin, there is literally something for everyone.
I couldn’t resist sampling the Wiltshire Game Terrine with pistachio, green peppercorns & grape chutney. Rustic and delicious.
Next came the moreish and light goats cheese soufflé packed with flavour.
Finally I couldn’t resist the scollops which were divine. Fresh, white as a button (as they should be) and came with cauliflower and bacon.
For the entree’s I opted for vegetarian, fish and meat options.
The ‘Mushroom Wellington’ with madeira & black cabbage was a treat. Unlike so many bland cardboard-esk offerings, this was packed with flavour, texture and surrounded by beautiful crisp pastry.
Next, I couldn’t resist the Lamb Rump which was excellent – with pressed lamb shoulder, butternut squash & golden raisons it was a perfectly cooked treat.
Finally the ‘Whole Lemon Sole’ truly melted in your mouth. Such a gloriously refreshing and satisfying dish.
Finally, it would be almost criminal not to have dessert at the Blue Boar.
Some of the most impressive (and substantial) glorious finale’s to a meal I’ve had in a long time.
The Blueberry was colourful and refreshing, the lemon meringues was tart, light and stunningly decadent and finally the chocolate was a true joy and the perfect way to end this fabulous meal….
After nearly two hours at the Blue Boar I honestly can’t think of anything bad to say.
It’s exception value for money and the quality of service in nothing short of impeccable.
