Biscayne Restaurant at Tropicana: Steak ~ Sea ~ WIne is located at the legendary Trop Hotel and Casino in the heart of Las Vegas.
This is The Trops fine-dining Steak House restaurant specialising in aged steak and fresh fish.
The room is elegant, spacious and remarkably airy with windows right across the far side. A rarity in Las Vegas. Biscayne also offers an ‘outdoor’ eating area (within the casino).
The mood is perfectly set by Frank Sinatra to Michael Buble (and alike) singing their heart out over the PA.

The Tropicana has had a complete renovation of late and has had the unenviable task of transforming from a ‘legendary’ tired casino to a 2014 destination hotel in Las Vegas.
Biscayne was an important choice that needed to be right for the Trop as Sin City diners are steak and seafood connoisseurs. There are almost infinite choices so this eatery needs to be not just good but great!
It was thrilling to hear that most of the staff have worked here for years…..over 20 and in some cases, over 30 years for some.
This is incredible by Las Vegas standards and a true testament to the management of the restaurant and casino.
So, to the meal….
We began with a lamb couscous amuse bouche. A nice touch to begin the meal.
Biscayne offers a varied and extensive wine list. A lovely surprise to be greeted with.
For my appetiser I wanted to try two of Biscayne’s most popular dishes. I began with the seared scallops which were cooked to perfection. Simple – served with asparagus, just as I like them.
Next I enjoyed the signature ‘Lamb Eggplant Taco’s’ – very popular, very different with fried & coated eggplant as the shell and incredibly flavoursome lamb and goats cheese inside….
For the entree’s it would have been rude not to have sampled their dry aged rib-eye steak. It was cooked perfectly and rich in flavour and texture. Very Impressive. Chef offers a small corn, bean and pepper side with the steak.
Enjoy a picture video of the food at Biscayne:
I opted to add the Chefs 3 sauces on the side which included homemade hollandaise, reds wine and house steak sauce. These were all nice but superfluous with the steak being so tender, flavoursome and well cooked.
I also opted to try the Shrimp which was again incredibly succulent and well cooked. This comes with a lemon sauce with charlottes and white wine (which made me nervous as it could have over-powered the shrimp) which in fact added to the dish beautifully……in fact, Biscayne should offer this sauce with the steak – it worked beautifully!
A note regarding the service at Biscayne. They have it absolutely right!
The servers are subtle, professional, warm and friendly and exactly what I pray for in so many of the more ‘fancy / modern’ eateries that fail at the last hurdle. Service is always king in my book and this will effect your entire dining experience.
Biscayne offer a master-class in making you feel welcome, comfortable and with-in your culinary comfort zone. Bravo!
Finally, don’t miss dessert…..
Firstly I ordered the ‘Triple Chocolate’ – right up my street….and next the ‘Deconstructed Banana Cream Pie’ with Banana pudding, nilla wafer tuille and caramel sauce….
Enjoy Biscayne at Tropicana Hotel & Casino Las Vegas!
