A new study by Disney On Ice has revealed the top 20 things grandparents learn from their grandchildren, with the older generation relying on young’uns for advice on everything from how to download or stream music, to the latest slang terms such as YOLO.
In return, ‘elders’ are helping youngsters learn to plant seeds, how to respect older folk, how to be a good person and how important it is to try new things.
Three quarters (76%) of grandparents are also becoming more tech savvy thanks to their grandchildren by learning how to use smartphones, Twitter and Instagram and even the names of the hottest current YouTubers.
The research also found a further three quarters (79%) of the older Brits who took part said they felt spending time with their grandchildren helped keep them young. One in three even went as far as to claim they had passed on far more useful knowledge to their grandchildren than they had received from theirs.
