Alan Titchmarsh is one of Britain’s top TV presenters and authors.
He’s just released his new book and continues to do his daily show on ITV which will end in 2014 as Alan wants to work on ‘new projects’.
Titty is an English gardener, broadcaster, and novelist. After working as a professional gardener and a gardening journalist, he established himself as a media personality through appearances on gardening programmes.
More recently, he has developed a diverse writing and broadcasting career.
Alan talks to Alex about his new autobiography.
He’s got a weekly Classic FM radio show and still writes a gardening column for the national press.
Each year Titty presents the legendary ‘Chelsea Flower Show’ for the BBC.
He’s the epitome of a gentle man, a Star and a family. Alex Belfield has known him for over 15 years.

His first few television appearances were on the long-running BBC television show Nationwide as a horticulture expert. This led to his being invited to present coverage of the Chelsea Flower Show for BBC television in 1983, something Titchmarsh has now hosted every year up to the present.
Titchmarsh also appeared on other BBC shows, such as Breakfast Time and Open Air, again as either a guest presenter or as a gardening expert, providing commentary and answering viewers’ questions
