Review MIDNIGHT MAZZ Murray…

I’ve made no secret that Mazz Murray is one of my favourite people. For over a decade I’ve been screaming that she’s one of the most hysterical, talented and vocally phenomenal performers in show business history.

Her new album MIDNIGHT MAZZ proves my point.

Never predictable, Mazz offers something quite different in this new album released April 18th 2018.

If you’re looking for ‘Killer Queen’ schticky covers – you’re out of luck.

This is a dignified, classy, sophisticated & beautiful selection of songs that celebrate her sensational voice & tone in a way that I’ve never heard before.

Her effortless elegance throughout is breathtaking.

This is a masterclass in vocal magnificence, control, richness & overall beauty.

The genius of this new album is the simplicity – mostly one voice and an accompanying guitar. Every word and note counts without any post production effect or distraction.

There’s nods to her past including hits like the glorious ‘Love Of My Life’ by Freddie Mercury, ‘Lately’ by Stevie Wonder as well as delightful surprises like ‘Why Should I Care’ written by Clint Eastwood.

She also pays tribute to her father Mitch, who wrote ‘ You Were Made For Me’. This version is hauntingly perfect.

All of the 10 tracks re-invent their original sound and prove Mazz Murray to be one of the exceptionally gifted, unique and stunning vocalists of her generation.

Mazz Murray re-invented the show stopping role of Killer Queen in the West End production of the musical We Will Rock You.

On 18 June 2009 she married Oren. Queen’s Brian May played a special version of “Love of My Life” at her wedding. The couple live in Bushey, Hertfordshire.
