Eharmony statistics:

The research team first identified 18 key factors such as desired age, physical attractiveness and relationship status that impact on the number of romantic options available to singles. Key findings show many reduce their odds by sticking to a narrow romantic wish-lists:

Ruling out potential partners based on age is a major factor. As the average UK
single is likely to be looking for a partner aged between 35 and 47, this leaves them
with just one in six (17% of the population) as an option.

Physical attraction has a big impact on your odds. Members of the public were
asked to rate physical attraction based on a set of photos. The results suggested
that only 18% of people are mutually attracted to one another.

Just one in three (33%) Brits is single, but an additional 15% of people already in a
couple are on the lookout for a new relationship. This means that nearly half of the
population (48%) would consider a new partner in the right circumstances.
