Santa’s Grotto Blackpool Pleasure Beach Ice Skating Review

Enjoy Celebrity Radio’s Santa’s Grotto Blackpool Pleasure Beach Ice Skating Review…

Blackpool’s Pleasure Beach may be closed for the Winter but the ‘Grotto’ is open in November & December through Christmas Eve spreading seasonal joy.

Offering a cute half an hour of festive glee in the Grotto as well as entrance to the Ice Arena, it’s a lovely way to spend half a day…especially on a cold & rainy day in Lancashire!

The ‘Arena’ is located through a grotty underpass to the grotto. It’s not exactly a wonderland, or even signposted. However, once inside ‘The Arena’ the staff could not be more brilliant.

As you enter the grotto you are welcomed by various festive ‘characters’. They are so good with children and couldn’t be more enthusiastic at setting the mood.

For just £10 you get to meet Santa, go in the snow ball, go ice skating and get a drink in the lovely (and warm) café.

This really is wonderful value for the kids for a day out in Blackpool.

Santa loves to take a picture with you and give every good boy and girl a special gift – a Blackpool Pleasure Beach Diamond Pass for the 2016 season and a FREE learn to skate lesson.

It’s not every kids dream to be handed a paper envelope from Father Christmas, but nevertheless, great cross-promotion for the world renowned Pleasure Beach.

What more do you want for a tenner? Open from 11am – 4pm at weekends.

After seeing Santa you can enjoy ice skating, skate hire and a choice of tea, coffee or hot chocolate in the Arena opposite.

The ice stadium is impressive and obviously an all year round attraction in Blackpool.

Unfortunately there are not stabilisers/aids for beginners or kids so you’ll just have to hold onto the side – easier said than done!

It’s great fun although a health and safety nightmare for someone of my vintage!

3* grotto, 4* skating & 5* value for money & staff for a top morning/afternoon out in Blackpool!

Like Blackpool generally, this attraction does not have pretention or bravado – but it what it does, is done beautifully. The kids will love it!
