After 3 years at Miami South Beach – Villa Azur is going from strength to strength.

Michael Martin, co-owner of Villa Azur is a native of northern France and this restaurant screams French elegance.

He began working with well known local figures to host several extremely popular VIP parties in Miami Beach before opening this grand and imposing restaurant.

So, to the food:

To begin I couldn’t resist sampling the Octopus marinated lemon, pan seared comes with a traditional rouille sauce.

This was so lovely with olives, sundried tomato and pine nuts. A gloriously indulgent dish.

The appetiser shrimp was delicious – medium cooked, cut in half dressed with organic olive oil and rocket. Hugely refreshing.

I could not turn down the opportunity to sample the house Foie Gras.

Such flavour. Such smooth texture. Such an adorable dish!

For the entrees I was thrilled to see Tiger prawn on the menu with truly delicious provencale vegetables.

What a hugely simple dish celebrating this fabulous ingredient. This is how all cooking should be!

Next came the Seared scallop, one of my absolute favourites. This truly was one of the most tender well cooked and served dishes I’ve eaten in a very long time. Truly excellent….in fact culinary perfection.

The scallop came on roasted fennel, honey & thyme crushed tomato. Divine.

I’m told you cannot visit Villa Azur without sampling chefs ‘truffle French ravilois’.

Packed with richness and flavour – I defy anyone to be able to finish this gloriously French dish….

Finally, I could not miss the opportunity to sample a Villa Azur steak.

The prime beef tenderloin comes very highly recommended.

At 8oz, this was a true delight. Packed with flavour, as tender as described and wonderful entrée by anyone’s standards.

This comes served with the house vegetables of broccoli and mushrooms and I added a truffle sauce. Marvellous!

Before you leave DON’T miss dessert!

The chocolate mousse is a real treat. With rich choc flavour and a slightly bitter edge, this is a chocoholics delight.

Next came the lemon meringue with a wonderfully fine and crispy pastry. Such citrus flavour – fabulous!

And finally some gorgeous berries. So good only a top chef would be clever and ingenious enough to serve them alone. Inspired.

This really a special restaurant offering something unique for diners in Miami.

Villa Azur also features international DJs creating an energetic after-dinner ambiance.

Michael Martin, a staple in the Miami nightlife scene infuse his expertise and knowledge of the Miami market, while Jean Philippe Bernard brings over 20 years of experience in the restaurant, bar and nightclub business.
