Vines Brasserie Barton Hall Hotel Review Kettering, Northamptonshire

Enjoy Celebrity Radio’s Vines Brasserie Barton Hall Hotel Review Kettering, Northamptonshire….

Barton Hall is the sister hotel to the historic Rushton Hall. Operated with the same principles of customer service and high standards, this hotel is a delight to visit.

Unlike Rushton Hall this has a much more 2014 feel modern furniture and fittings throughout. Both have an equally boutique and decadent feel.

Surrounded by colourful, beautifully kept gardens, Barton Hall Hotel is a striking Country House set in the town of Kettering.

Boasting a bar, restaurant, wedding facilities, free parking and free Wi-Fi – this really is my ideal 2014 hotel venue.

The rooms at Barton Hall are each uniquely designed and contain an en suite bathroom, a 40-inch flat-screen TV, tea and coffee making facilities and a work desk.

In the morning, the bright and elegantly designed Vines Bar & Brasserie serves an extensive breakfast buffet.

From the hotel, located just 30 minutes from the M1 and A1 in Kettering – Wicksteed Park amusement park is less than 2 minutes’ drive away. Xscape Milton Keynes is also a 50-minute drive away. Kettering Golf Club is a 9-minute journey in the car from the hotel grounds.

Despite being officially 4* (technical reasons explained later), there is no question the rooms are 5* luxury.

Now to dinner….

Enjoy an Exclusive review via YouTube of the Vines Restaurant:

The Vines Brasserie at Barton Hall is a treat of an eatery. Relaxed, incredibly friendly and informal service with lovely food and very reasonable prices.

The room, despite feeling relaxed has some lovely touches including linen napkins. Elegantly designed, this restaurant is perfect for a special event.

The food is plentiful, incredibly well designed, superbly plated and delicious flavours and variety.

To begin, I was dining with company so I thought the sharing platters were a perfect idea!

The antipasti board with itlaian meats, focaccia, olives (heated for some reason), cheese and pickles was a treat. We added the Vegetarian board with peppers, humous as an extra treat.

I couldn’t resist trying the ham hock terrine – beautifully presented with a poached egg and salad. Delicious….

The Vines Brasserie prides itself on using local, seasonal and fresh ingredients. The menu evolves throughout the year.

There are many options for the entrée. I literally could have chosen anything on the menu – my type of food.

I wanted to sample the most popular items on the menu so I started with the fish and chips. Beautifully cooked, amazing mint peas and home made tartar sauce – doesn’t get any more fun than this.

I was told the steak is the was an amazing dish and I was impressed with the steak. Although slightly over cook for my liking due to the ‘chargrilled’, this was a fabulous dish well plated. Including fries, the BEST onion rings I’ve ever tasted, a mushroom, grilled tomatoes and blue cheese sauce – utterly delicious.

I wanted to try something a little different as one of my guests was a vegetarian. They opted for the polenta which I am told is one of the most tasty and flavoursome they had ever tasted. Great job making such a boring ingredient exceptional!

A special nod has to go to the braised duck which was incredibly succulent and packed with flavour. The plum sauce added to the plates genius.

Finally I cannot say enough good things about the desserts.

Clearly the pastry chef was born to make sure every meal crescendo’s! She did not disappoint.

I don’t think I’ve been so impressed by the colours, textures and flavours of these stunning desserts.

The Coconut parfait with roasted and marinated pineapple sorbet was divine. A spectacular dessert which frankly should win an award! Extraordinary. I would literally come back just for this pudding.

The Lemon Meringue was ok but the Morello cheery ice-cream was sensational. Best ice-cream I’ve ever had in this country.

Finally the chocolate and orange Crème brûlée was a real treat. So moreish and the perfect end to an indulgent meal.
