It’s back! The ‘Spamalot UK Tour 2015’…..
Following the massive success of Monty Python’s ten-night farewell show at the O2 Arena, Spamalot is back!
The tour begins with Joe Pasquale back as King Arthur alongside Todd Carty as Patsy.
Celebrity Radio LOVES Spamalot – it’s a hoot! A 4* comedy masterpiece by Eric Idle!
The songs are sensational, paradying the musical genre mercilessly! It’s the ultimate feel good escapism show!
There’s some new lines, the ‘Hey’ is back from Broadway and a re-write of the topical ‘You won’t succeed on Broadway’ is genius! A standout highlight of the entire show.
I went to see the brand new production at the Birmingham Alexandra Theatre in Feb 2015:

It’s great to see Spamalot back on stage. In my top 3 musicals of all time.
Spamalot is the antidote to the current ‘big’ touring spectaculars like The Lion King, Wicked and Mamma Mia.
It relies on pure talent, comic timing, a sensational script, a terrific band and hugely hummable tunes.
This is not a ‘new’ production, it’s the West End set & production with tweaks and a brilliantly enthusiastic cast.
Prior to the tour Eric Idle said: “The new production is funnier, it’s more like a Python show. There are new costumes and new sets and a new director (Christopher Luscombe), so it’s just got a whole different spirit to it.”
What the show lacks in set it makes up for in belly laughs!
Nods must go to Joe Pasquale who brings the show to life. What a singing voice – he’s like a funny Ed Sheeran (minus the guitar!).
Such a huge personality with a naughtiness and charm perfect for King Arthur. He was born for this role.
Pasquale is a consummate professional, totally at ease with an audience – that is infectious.
Joe’s comic timing is only to be admired and his delivery of this clever and wordy script is second to none.
Also, I must credit the gorgeously talented Sarah Earnshaw. She’s a powerhouse performer.
Her comic timing is confident & impressive and she steals the show with her killer vocals. You need a diva for ‘The Lady Of The Lake’ to work – Bingo! Top marks.
Todd Carty masterfully owns the role of Patsy.
He’s happy to play the straight man and wait 2 hours to deliver the hit song ‘Always look on the bright side of life’ to huge applause.
Here’s an Exclusive interview with Todd Carty @ Spamlot…..
Spamalot is a fabulous night out! 4* comedy gold.
