So what is Beacher’s Madhouse?

Enjoy Alex Belfield’s Exclusive Review for Celebrity Radio recorded at MGM Grand:

Well, it’s an outrageous, interactive, loud and at times shocking night club concept with Live interactive entertainment.

Despite being advertised on some external websites as a 10.30pm “show” – it is not a show, nor does it start at 10.30pm – it’s a club night including Live entertainment which kicks off around 11.30pm.

This is the antithesis of 90 minutes of polished, professional & crafted Cirque Du Soleil.

Beacher’s Madhouse has been all over the country in the last decade, but originated with Jeff Beacher’s comedy shows at the Triad Cabaret Theatre in NYC.

The first show to use the Madhouse name was at Madison Square Garden’s Paramount Theatre on June 14th, 2002. Beacher used the term Madhouse to describe the feeling one gets while immersed in this strange and exciting environment.

So what is the entertainment? = Crazy!

There’s sexual teddy bears, dancing Big Bird (there were several very big birds the night I attended), diminutive people dangling from the ceiling serving drinks and even a boxing Mini Kayne West.

I have to admit Beacher’s Madhouse was a lot of fun but you have to go with an open mind and preferably in a group. It’s a party place where your experience will unquestionably be enhanced by your friends and their reaction to the shenanigans!

A note of warning. For some, laughing or being entertained by someone just because they are of restricted height might be offensive at best or ludicrous at worst.

One thing is for sure, this concept would not servive in the UK in this format. The press would eat it alive. Beacher’s Madhouse laughs in the face of political correctness. The easily offended or prudish should definitely stay away from Beacher’s Madhouse and go for dinner at Joel Robuchon and see David Copperfield instead!
