La Ereta Restaurant Review ~ Alicante

Celebrity Radio’s La Ereta Restaurant Review ~ Alicante….

The first thing that impresses you about La Ereta is it’s incredible location. Located next to the castle in the Parque de la Ereta, it is a truly incredible experience just getting there.

There is no doubt this restaurant offers the best views in Alicante and sets a truly Spanish romantic mood for your dinner.

Executive Chef Daniel Frias offers a unique take on Valencian specialties including lobster, goat, tuna tartare, john dory & octopus.

As with all fine dining restaurants you are offered various breads to begin. Chef doesn’t disappoint with an assortment of bread sticks, white & brown bread and the most delicious crispy snacks.

The amuse bouche was a spectacular way to start the meal with a assortment of 5 tasty appetizers including a delicious strawberry gazpacho & tuna tartare. It also included Vegetable Worm with Soja Mayonnaise, Ensaladilla Mousse with Mojama & Escalivada  Creme with Cod.

This was followed by a tuna salad. Incredibly fresh and beautifully presented.

The service at La Ereta is as you would expect, being incredibly smooth, efficient and professional. The dining room is refreshingly uncluttered and obviously has outstanding views throughout overlooking Alicante harbour.

Next, was the thrill of three fish courses.

1) Octopus with sweet potato cream and hot red pepper foam.

2) Lobster with artichoke & pigs trotter and soup.

3) John Dory with garlic sauce & Alicante peppers….

This was followed by something new, original and incredibly flavoursome. The ‘goat sandwich’ really is very tasty and different.

Next came the peanut praline, Iberian “tocino” Yolk of the egg and Mushrooms followed by the Green & Black Rice with Cuttlefish featuring Spinach, mushrooms in squid ink……

As the meal was finished full circle, we were offered 5 desserts of similar size to the amuse bouche. These visually were very impressive and as always, the perfect way to complete a wonderful meal.

The desserts included a sorbet lollipop, ‘chocolate and milk’ as well as a beautifully refreshing lemon glass ‘Agua de Valencia’.

Overall La Ereta food was original, exceeding the norm and pushed boundaries for the area. Obviously the terrific views were exceptional.

A wonderfully memorable dining experience.
