Needless to say that the wine list @ GR is exceptional and offers a virtually infinite choice of wines from around the world.

For me this restaurant does not have the appeal of Ramsay’s sister restaurant at the Savoy, but there is no questioning the quality of service, food and ambiance. It is down to personal choice.

As with all great restaurants you begin with Chef’s amuse bouche, we were offered a truly fabulous langoustine soup;

Everyone knows I cannot resist the foie gras. GR complements with truffle and a delightful brioche;

Next, we loved some Ramsay theatre with the Beef Wellington;

The parma ham in the Wellington gave it an exceptional edge and flavour. We were told it would be served ‘medium rare’, I think it was more rare in reality. Nevertheless the meat was top class, tender, full of flavour and totally delicious!

To finish I LOVED the ‘Chocolate Sphere’ – genius mix of cold ice-cream mixed with hot chocolate sauce…at the same time! Incredible;

This was a wonderful dining experience in one of the worlds most iconic restaurants.
