Dianne Pilkington is one of the West Ends leading ladies.

She starred as Sophie De Palma in the West End production of Master Class, which ran at the Vaudeville Theatre from January – April 2012.

It was announced in April 2013 that Pilkington would take over the role Donna Sheridan in Mamma Mia! at the Novello Theatre from 10 June 2013.

From May to August 2010, Baker was a guest presenter on BBC One’s magazine programme The One Show, standing in for Jason Manford. Following Manford’s resignation on 18 November 2010, Baker acted as a guest co-host on the programme.

He later took over as a permanent presenter on the show, co-hosting with Alex Jones from Monday through to Thursday.

Baker gained media attention by asking the Prime Minister David Cameron, “How on earth do you sleep at night?” on the episode that aired on 8 March. Opinions differed as to whether the question was merely a query about Cameron’s workload or a political accusation.

He started his broadcasting career working for Piccadilly Radio, Manchester as a teenager, before moving to London as a presenter for the BBC’s Greater London Radio and then Channel 4 television, where The Big Breakfast made him a star.

Soon he was able to dictate highly favourable terms, allowing him to broadcast on competing radio and TV stations. Slots like Radio 1 Breakfast Show and TFI Friday provided an appealing mix of celebrity interviews, music and comic games, delivered in an irreverent style that attracted complaints and higher ratings in equal measure.

By 2000 he was the UK’s highest paid entertainer, according to the Sunday Times Rich List.

In 2005, he started a new career on Radio 2, involving the long-running Drivetime programme, as well as a new breakfast show. More recent work for BBC1 and Channel 4 has not achieved the success of his earlier ventures.

Jackie Collins is one of the worlds most glamorous and successful women in the world.

She’s sold millions of books around the world and took time out of her crazy schedule to chat with Belfield in 2008.

Jackie is an English novelist. She has written 29 novels, all of which have appeared on The New York Times bestsellers list.

In total, her books have sold over 500 million copies and have been translated into 40 languages.

Eight of her novels have been adapted for the screen, either as films or television mini-series. She is the younger sister of actress Joan Collins.

Jackie died of breast cancer aged 77 on the 19th September 2015.

Collins holds dual citizenship; British (by birth) and American citizenship (from 6 May 1960).

Collins married her first husband, Wallace Austin, in 1960 and divorced in 1964. They had one child, Tracy, born in 1961.

In 1965, Collins married for the second time to art gallery and nightclub (Ad-Lib, Tramp) owner, Oscar Lerman.

They were married in the home of her sister Joan and Anthony Newley, who were husband and wife at the time. Collins and Lerman had two daughters, Tiffany (born 1967) and Rory (born 1969). Lerman also formally adopted Collins’ daughter, Tracy, from her previous marriage. Lerman died in 1992 from prostate cancer.

In 1994, Collins became engaged to Los Angeles business executive Frank Calcagnini, who died in 1998 from a brain tumour.

In her own words, Collins now lives her life “like a cool bachelor. I have a man for all seasons.” She resides in Beverly Hills in a mansion she designed herself.

In the Sunday Times Rich List 2011, Collins was listed as the UK’s fifth richest author with an estimated personal fortune of £60 million ($96 million).

Alex Belfield got to talk to Harry Hill in a rare interview to promote his tour in 2000.

Harry is notoriously shy and rarely does interviews with journalists.

The Star of You’ve Been Framed, TV Burp and most recently the X-Factor musical – Harry is one of the most popular TV Stars and comedians around.

In 2014 he opens ‘I Can’t Sing’ at the Palladium in the West End.

Harry Hill is an English comedian, author and television presenter best known for narrating You’ve Been Framed! since 2004 and hosting Harry Hill’s TV Burp for eleven years from 2001 to 2012 as well as Stars In Their Eyes since 2015 on ITV.

A former physician, Hill began his career in comedy when he began hosting his popular radio show Harry Hill’s Fruit Corner, but has worked on a number of projects including his 2013 film The Harry Hill Movie.

In 2003, Hill was listed in The Observer as one of the 50 funniest acts in British comedy. In a 2005 poll to find The Comedian’s Comedian, he was voted amongst the top 50 comedy acts ever by fellow comedians and comedy insiders.[26] In 2007, Hill was voted number five on Channel 4’s hundred greatest stand-ups. On 13 December 2006, Hill won two Highland Spring British Comedy Awards, over the favourites Ant and Dec, which Hill made light of in his acceptance speeches.[27] In 2008 he won two Baftas and another in 2009 for best Entertainment Performance. In 2009 he won two British Comedy Awards, making it his sixth award. He also won again in 2011, but was unable to be there and sent Wagbo to collect it on his behalf. He was also nominated for 3 other awards, including the People’s Choice Award, which was won by Miranda Hart.

Danny La Rue, OBE was one of the greatest performer of his generation.

Danny was an Irish-born British entertainer known for his singing and drag impersonations who shot to fame in the UK Music Halls.

La Rue was one of the most popular Stars in Pantomime.

Danny died in 2009 aged 81.

Long before Lily Savage, La Cage Aux Folles or Priscilla Queen Of The Desert, there was Danny La Rue, Britain’s foremost female impersonator who single-handedly turned cross dressing into mainstream family entertainment.

Danny La Rue was born Daniel Patrick Carroll in Cork, Ireland, on 26th July 1927, the youngest in a family of 5. He was just 9 years old when he was brought to England by his widowed mother Mary, and the family settled initially in London.

However he was evacuated during the Blitz, and spent the next few years in the tiny Devon village of Kennford.  He left school at 15 and worked in a fashion store in Exeter.

A term in the Royal Navy involved him in concert party entertainment and set acting career. Back in civvies, it was years of slogging away in repertory, and variety, taking him to almost every theatre in the provinces and affording him an invaluable, ringside view of all the biggest stars of the day.

This was one of Alex Belfield’s first ever in-depth interviews in 1998.

Kenneth Clarke was born in 1940. He was educated at Nottingham High School and Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge.

He is a barrister-at-law, having been called to the Bar by Gray’s Inn in 1963 and becoming QC in 1980. He has practised on the Midland Circuit, based in Birmingham.

During his time as Chancellor of the Exchequer, from 1993 to 1997, Britain recovered from recession and was set on a course of economic growth with low inflation.

In addition, the budget deficit was halved and interest rates and unemployment fell.

In January 2009, Ken joined the Shadow Cabinet as Shadow Secretary of State for Business, bringing with him a wealth of experience from the public and private sectors.

In May 2010, Ken was appointed to join the Cabinet as Lord Chancellor and Secretary of State for Justice and currently serves as Minister without Portfolio.

Ken returned to the back benches following the Cabinet re-shuffle in July 2014.

He first became active in politics at Cambridge, where he was President of the Union, and Chairman of the University Conservative Association.

He was also the National Chairman of the Federation of University Conservative Associations.

He unsuccessfully contested Mansfield in the General Elections of 1964 and 1966. He was elected MP for Rushcliffe at the 1970 General Election, gaining the seat from Labour.

Ken has extensive experience in government, spanning three decades. He has served in two of the four Great Offices of State: Chancellor and Home Secretary.
