This is one of the longest running broadcast quiz’s in the world.

It has been broadcast since 11 April 1972 on BBC Radio 4 with new series currently rotating with the other Monday night comedy staples The Unbelievable Truth and Just a Minute.

The show was conceived in 1972 as a parody of radio and TV panel games.

The 50th series was broadcast in November and December 2007 on BBC Radio 4

I’m Sorry I Haven’t a Clue is a BBC radio comedy panel game.

Repeats are aired on BBC Radio 4 Extra and the BBC World Service. All episodes are available on the BBC iPlayer for seven days after each individual broadcast.

Introduced as “the antidote to panel games”, it consists of two teams of two comedians “given silly things to do” by a chairman.

Barry Cryer OBE is a British writer and comedian and national treasure.

Cryer has written for many noted performers, including Dave Allen, Stanley Baxter, Jack Benny, Rory Bremner, George Burns, Jasper Carrott, Tommy Cooper, Les Dawson, Dick Emery, Kenny Everett, Bruce Forsyth, David Frost, Bob Hope, Frankie Howerd, Richard Pryor, Spike Milligan, Mike Yarwood, The Two Ronnies and Morecambe and Wise.

Cryer also wrote episodes for the Doctor in the House British television comedy series.

He’s written for everyone and is the first to comment when any of them peg it! He is ‘Mr. Comedy’.

Barry was at the re-opening of The City Varieties in Leeds.

Belfield caught up with him at the Leeds Grand Theatre.

Barry has become one of the country’s most popular after-dinner speakers.

He has spoken at tributes to Gene Kelly, Tommy Steele, Frankie Howerd and Harry Secombe.

He appeared regularly on Granada TV’s Milord, Ladies and Gentlemen, a programme which featured the country’s leading after-dinner speakers. He has addressed and entertained at hundreds of corporate events all over the UK.

He has presided over copious Awards ceremonies including the Sony Video Awards.

He has spoken before the Prince and the late Princess of Wales at both Guildhall and the Mansion House, entertained Princess Anne in music hall and shared speaking duties with the Duke of Edinburgh at the Savoy Hotel.

He has spoken many times at the old Wembley Stadium at Cup Finals and International celebrations and for the Lords Taverners and for the Variety Club regularly addresses large audiences in London and the provinces.
